July Garden update

Celery in the mini green house starting to come up.

Beef tomatoes and cherry tomatoes are looking good in the Poly-tunnel.

Corn planted from last years crop turned to seed. It is our best corn crop ever!

Cantelope plant has gone wild. I guess I am lucky the second plant died because we would not have room for two plants.

Veiw of inside of poly tunnel.

Onion crop in the rock garden. You can see the carrots on the left side of the onions.

English peas are doing great in rock garden. Despite all the rain we had in July the garden thrived. We have been really pleased.

  1. Beautiful garden. Celery is supposed to be tricky to grow. You are the consummate gardener!

    • Thanks for the compliment on our garden. Celery is not hard to grow, but it is a very slow growing plant.I am going to harvest in but leave the roots in the ground. I plan to cover them with straw and see if they survive the winter. I hope eventually that I will have a fully mature plant to harvest later. Cross your fingers that the article that I read is correct.

      • The Swedish growing season is short enough that it takes 2 years to harvest a mature plant? Amazing! Sounds like northern-clime celery-growing is only for gardeners who like to experiment and expand their horizons (fingers crossed). Have fun!

      • The Swedish growing season is short but intense. We have extremely long summer days. I had a decent celery crop last year if you remember last years harvest post. I pulled the whole plant when I harvested the celery. Then I read afterwards that I should have left the root to grow the following season. It will be great fun to see if they will survive the winter in a cold green house.

  2. Everything is thriving and looks wonderful!

  3. I heard about the rain from a friend in Stockholm. It certainly doesn’t seem to have held your garden back 🙂

    • It rained so much that I would sink in the mud, when trying to harvest peas. I have a pair of rubber gardening clogs that I garden in when it is wet. The mud oozed into my clogs and would fall off in the mud when I tried to walk… I was also surprised that the garden thrived so well despite being over watered. I need to buy a new pair of rainboots.August made up for it by being absolutely perfect weather.

  4. It is all looking SO GOOD! It has been raining here most of the time since early July 😦 You have everything looking so good despite that. And I LOVE your poly tunnel! Karen

    • The poly-tunnel has been hubby’s doing for the most part. The air in there is so humid that my lungs don’t like it. I have done minimal work in there. He has done a fantastic job. I will tell him what you said. He will love the compliment.

Welcome to TIP. ABC, CBS, NBC and all the cable news channels are all bought and paid for and report what they are told to report. The MSM lies to and instigates people into political argument and gossip that leads to dead-end roads and distracts from the real issues. There is much better informational news reporting away from the Democrat and Republican tail-spinning arguments that are usually rooted in confusion and hate.. TIP is your alternative.
