Fracking Used to Inject Nuclear Waste Underground for Decades

Be sure to read link at the bottom or this post marked More for an indebt article. Honey

Unearthed articles from the 1960s detail how nuclear waste was buried beneath the Earth’s surface by Halliburton & Co. for decades as a means of disposing the by-products of post-World War II atomic energy production.

Fracking is already a controversial practice on its face; allowing U.S. industries to inject slurries of toxic, potentially carcinogenic compounds deep beneath the planet’s surface — as a means of “see no evil” waste disposal — already sounds ridiculous, dangerous, and stupid anyway without even going into further detail.

Alleged fracking links to the contamination of the public water supply and critical aquifers, as well as ties to earthquake upticks near drilling locations that are otherwise not prone to seismic activity have created uproar in the years since the 2005 “Cheney loophole,” which allowed the industry to circumvent the Safe Drinking Water Act by exempting fracking fluids, thus fast tracking shale fracking as a source of cheap natural gas.

  1. Thanks for sharing this article. When, if ever, will it stop??? So sad.

  2. Thank you for this post…. Important info here…

    • Have you ever heard of this information before? The article was first posted quite a few years ago. I have never heard any anti fracking supporters ever pointing out this information. It makes sense when so much toxic waste is being made that what are they doing with it? We depend on our government agencies to have over sight on its disposal and storage. Sweden has nuclear plants. We were suppose to have phased them out and have switched to green alternatives. I have never heard who was going to be financially responsible for the storage of nuclear material. It is very thought provoking.

      • Honey….NO!…I have NEVER stumbled across this before…. Looks like somebody did an excellent job of covering it up, in the media I mean…. I always wondered if they shipped it into space?…. I have decided ‘anything can happen’…. thanks again for all you do…..

      • How many of us take the time to find out how much nuclear waste is made each year in our countries? How many citizens wonder about what storage facilities are in the country and how often containers are changed and monitored? How about the workers who work for these companies what effect does this have on their health? I blindly trusted that the government was looking out for it’s citizens. Sweden had been responsible and took very good care of it’s citizens, but that changed under former PM Reinfeldt.
I do not feel that way anymore.

  3. In South Africa our beautiful Karoo is also under threat from the corporate raiders. Sadly our government is so corrupt it appears that in the face of massive public outrage this will go ahead.

    • I am ashamed to admit it, but I did not know what the Karoo was and I had to google it. I hope that the people stand up and protect it.

It seems while we were all sleeping, big business has come in and bought out our governments. They are making decision based on the top 1% getting richer while filling their own pockets. The environment, the people and the countries welfare and wishes are of no consequences to most of them. I am for one saying this is no longer acceptable.

Welcome to TIP. ABC, CBS, NBC and all the cable news channels are all bought and paid for and report what they are told to report. The MSM lies to and instigates people into political argument and gossip that leads to dead-end roads and distracts from the real issues. There is much better informational news reporting away from the Democrat and Republican tail-spinning arguments that are usually rooted in confusion and hate.. TIP is your alternative.
