Garden 2013

We planned and discussed our garden’s successes and failures. We always try to re-evaluate our garden’s progress every year. We decide what we needed to improve on during the winter.

My hubby widened and lengthened the garden. We had more dirt delivered. He was trying to fill in this are between the two beds and this corner of the rock border bed. We made the beds even with each other. Last year the rain water flooded this area. The picture shows that he solved this problem. Dixie is showing you how the rock border is taller and wider at the bottom.

You hopefully can see the rock border bed is a lot bigger than our 2011 garden.

We let the broccoli grow until november to see how well it would do in our climate. We are wanting to have a winter garden next year.

  1. You have an AMAZING garden and I can just see the real heart and soul effort which has gone into it. You grew such fabulous crops, including Borlotti beans which I can not grow here in England because we never get enough sun. Those pods so cry out to be painted with watercolours, so washy and perfectly coloured. And you do great pickles! I am following you now because I love what you do.- Karen

  2. Thank you so much for the enjoying the pictures of our garden. We have really come to love having a vegetable patch. We have like to take photos to record our progress. We grew the Borlotti beans as an experiment hoping that we would be successful in growing them. We had an exceptionally warm summer and to our surprise they thrived. I froze them in a ziplock bag to store them.We just finished the last of them in chili con carne last week. We plan to try to grow them again this year, but we will plant more rows of it.
I plan to post my pickle recipes later on.

THE INTERNET POST

Welcome to TIP. ABC, CBS, NBC and all the cable news channels are all bought and paid for and report what they are told to report. The MSM lies to and instigates people into political argument and gossip that leads to dead-end roads and distracts from the real issues. There is much better informational news reporting away from the Democrat and Republican tail-spinning arguments that are usually rooted in confusion and hate.. TIP is your alternative.
